Pinhoe Target Shooting Club based in Exeter have returned from the National Smallbore Rifle Championships held annually at Bisley. Eight Pinhoe members in total travelled to Surrey to take part in the weeklong event enjoying mixed fortunes.
Well done to the Pinhoe team of shooters who represented Devon in the Astor Cup finals. A sterling effort in very windy conditions saw them achieve a commendable 8th position out of 16 finalist counties. The Astor Cup requires county teams of 6 to shoot 20 rounds at a distance of 50m and 20 rounds at 100m achieving a possible maximum score of 2,400. The event was won by Cheshire & North Wales with a score of 2,292 and the Devon team scoring 2,255.
