The Range Build Has Started

The new range build has started.

We have hit a snag already with the detection of water, however we think we now have a way forward to resolve the issue.

Fund raising will continue to turn our range into the centre of shooting excellence for Devon.

We merged!

We have now merged with Pinhoe Target Shoot Club, TVR and Exeter Rifle Club

Currently we operate from 2 ranges.

Fonthill range will remain open for now, while we are developing the Pinhoe range.

We hope to see you soon.

We will go on

You may have heard about the swimming pool closure threatening the closure of our club, however we have formed Exeter Target Sports Academy with other local clubs to make sure that Exeter has a strong position with the sport moving forward. We are currently located in the same place, and look forward to welcoming new members.

So please don’t hesitate to contact us, or come along where we can induct you in to our hobby.

Swimming Pool Closure Threatens Club Closure

Exeter has revealed plans for a new swimming pool to be completed in 2018. The new leisure complex and pool will cost around 20m and replace the pyramids pool in Heavitree Road.

This is great news for Exeter, however not such good news for our tiny club. The chances are that the current building which we are situated under, will fall into disrepair and eventually be sold off for the land. This will leave Fonthill Rifle Club members we no where to practice their much enjoyed sport.

We are looking at plans and idea’s to keep the club alive and retain our much loved club name. It is unlikely in this day and age that Exeter city council will offer us the opportunity to take up residence in any other location.

Keep glued to the site to more information as we get it.

Improved Security Systems

After our recent AGM meeting, we decided to improve the security of the club and provide better protection for all members.

We have invested in a new CCTV System with more camera’s to cover all area’s of the range and entry/exit to the club. We will be moving away from our old Black and White CRT 8″ security monitor to a 19″ colour monitor with a HDD recorder so we make sure we never miss any of your 100 point score dancing, or people entering and leaving the club. Total peace of mind even when we are not their.

We have also invested in a magnetic door looking system. This will allow control and entry to your guns without the need of a range officer on hand. The range officer will still have to open the door and close the door at the start and end of the evening, however now you wont need to scramble around trying to find someone help with access your guns. members which require access with be given the code.

So keep an eye peeled as soon we will have all eyes on you.
